Where flowers bloom so does hope - Lady Bird Johnson

" A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the contents of one's heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away."
- Arabian Proverb

I love the shape of this, kind of like a star Masha'Allaah, and the little buds are so sweet.

Let the tears flow....

......."With every hardship comes ease...." (Qur'an 94:5-6)

Pretty in pink.

I find this flower very beautiful and unique, how it twirls around before it blooms, I've never seen that before. I cannot remember what the plant is called, I have it in the back, will take a look to see if it has it's name on the pot insha Allaah (God willing).

Update : Found out the plant is called 'Cyclaman Midi'

''Flowers have an expression.....''

“Flowers have an expression of countenance as much as men and animals. Some seem to smile; some have a sad expression; some are pensive and diffident; others again are plain, honest and upright, like the broad-faced sunflower and the hollyhock.”
-Henry Ward Beecher

For every beauty....

“For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.”

Droplets of rain

Tiny drops
of dew
clinging to
flower petals
making them glisten
in early morning sun
flowers all colors
clashing together
a garden of
heavenly thought
old oak tree
watches guard
as flowers
proudly
open to the day
bees are busy
buzzing from
flower to flower
life is anew
as tiny buds
reach up
seaching for warmth
its a rioting
of nature.

Apologies

I'm sorry for not posting any updates for a while, I've just been busy with life in general, been away recently also to see family. I really do want to start posting again on my blogs, but I feel my life and home needs some organising first, so I can start to think a bit more clearly insha Allaah (God Willing).

So no, I haven't disowned my blogs ;) feel quite sad they've been a bit neglected, but insha Allaah will start posting again soon. x

Time for some relaxation

Feeling somewhat surreal

My Special Place

If I seem distant, as if a thousand miles away,
If I appear not to hear what you say.
There are times that no matter how much I care,
I turn around and give you a totally blank stare.

I am not really uncaring, I care very much,
But at times like these
I find it hard to smile and such.
On those days when I am distant and far away,
I'm in that place that is healing and peaceful today.

Each of us sees our most private of spaces
As where we can go, our most favorite places.
We never intend to close others out,
We only know what will turn us about.

So remember when you find me so far away,
And want me to come back and play.
What I need is your patience for me
And I promise the same when you also flee

To that most “Special of Places”.

Priceless

Don't be sad....life's too short

Priceless things

Life holds so many priceless things,
The falling rain, the wind that sings.
Each star on high, a big full moon,
And sunbeams dancing in your room.
The river as it washes on,
A sunset when the day is gone.
No wealth can buy a mountain tall,
Those priceless things belong to all.
An autumn tree lends beauty rare
With leaves piled deep most everywhere
As nature wears a glowing smile
To make each day a day worthwhile
Could anything be quite so dear
As laughing children that we hear?
The gift of friendship that is ours
The miracle of growing flowers
Each magic moment-treasured time
These priceless gifts are yours and mine.

Like the colour of a dove..

We've been exploring a bit recently here in Birmingham, we went to Kings Heath Park, Cannon Hill Park, which I thought was absolutely beautiful, we also went to the Botanical Gardens which was lovely, so the photos I've been posting lately are mainly a combination from these three places.

Scrumptious Pink!

The Tuft of Flowers

I went to turn the grass once after one
Who mowed it in the dew before the sun.

The dew was gone that made his blade so keen
Before I came to view the levelled scene.

I looked for him behind an isle of trees;
I listened for his whetstone on the breeze.

But he had gone his way, the grass all mown,
And I must be, as he had been,--alone,

`As all must be,' I said within my heart,
`Whether they work together or apart.'

But as I said it, swift there passed me by
On noiseless wing a 'wildered butterfly,

Seeking with memories grown dim o'er night
Some resting flower of yesterday's delight.

And once I marked his flight go round and round,
As where some flower lay withering on the ground.

And then he flew as far as eye could see,
And then on tremulous wing came back to me.

I thought of questions that have no reply,
And would have turned to toss the grass to dry;

But he turned first, and led my eye to look
At a tall tuft of flowers beside a brook,

A leaping tongue of bloom the scythe had spared
Beside a reedy brook the scythe had bared.

I left my place to know them by their name,
Finding them butterfly weed when I came.

The mower in the dew had loved them thus,
By leaving them to flourish, not for us,

Nor yet to draw one thought of ours to him.
But from sheer morning gladness at the brim.

The butterfly and I had lit upon,
Nevertheless, a message from the dawn,

That made me hear the wakening birds around,
And hear his long scythe whispering to the ground,

And feel a spirit kindred to my own;
So that henceforth I worked no more alone;

But glad with him, I worked as with his aid,
And weary, sought at noon with him the shade;

And dreaming, as it were, held brotherly speech
With one whose thought I had not hoped to reach.

`Men work together,' I told him from the heart,
`Whether they work together or apart.'

White beauty

In friendship's fragrant garden,
There are flowers of every hue.
Each with its own fair beauty
And its gift of joy for you.

Flower delight

Salam 'alaykum and Hello!

Sorry there's been no photos posted for a while, I had problems with my usb, and eventually just bought a card reader, by then I couldn't wait to start uploading. I've been using flickr lately, and have quite a nice little collection now, so will start posting over the coming days.

For now I'll leave you with this one:

Innocence!

In the garden there is one unique flower,
Past the roses, on past the daffodils.

unique this flower, for reasons unknown,
unfinished in blossom as it has aged.

A flower with roots deep in fertile soil,
drawing nourishment as it so needs.

A stem as strong and standing true,
unbent by the winds or the rain.

The petals alive with vibrant colours,
this is were the need to explain.

This flower, having all it needs,
refuses to blossom in full bloom.

Having supply of all in need,
the beauty of this flower, unseen................

Peering through..

I forgot I had taken this photo, hope you like!

Sorry no picture updates

I was hoping to have put some photos up on here by now, but unfortunately I've lost my usb cable for my camera, I've just ordered a new one off ebay, and hopefully should be here tomorrow insha Allaah (God willing).

Well, we're off to Kings Heath park later today insha Allaah, and I can't wait! Should be a good opportunity to take some beautiful pics. Apparently this is where the BBC's Gardeners world has been filmed for many years.

So watch this space!

Beauty as I see it

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you...
while cares will drop off like autumn leaves - John Muir.

The best thing about having a sister was that I always had a friend. ~Cali Rae Turner

A loyal sister is worth a thousand friends - Marian Eigerman.

Sisterhood is many things. It's a warn smile on a cold and rainy day, a friendly hug, a cheerful hello... It's all that a good and lasting friendship is, only better. It's treasured. It's sacred. It's knowing that there will always be someone there for you. It's dreams shared, and goals achieved. It's counting on others and being counted on. It is real - Author unknown.

Our Wednesday morning

“Each morning sees some task begin, Each evening sees it close; Something attempted, something done, Has earned a night's repose” Harry Wadsworth Longfellow.

“Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don't waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.” Og Mandino.
